no script export
I'm using tor with No Script and want to export my No Script settings. When I try to do this via the No Script options I get a question about file type. What do I do to export the file to my computer.

Hi seena, the NoScript export is a plain text file. The contents of the file look like a JSON object.
I notice the NoScript Import dialog -- on Windows -- looks for files ending with either .txt or .json, so I think you could use either, whatever you prefer.
I could export the file but I would like to start Tor from the GUI which is visible on my desktop. I can open Tor there via right click and open. The env folder in user/bin does not exist in Linux Mint (opened as root with hidden files displayed) so I can't use register-app. Any suggestions. I have a work around by importing the saved exported file each time I start the browser - but it would be simpler if it were automatic

Hi seena, if you have a Firefox profile folder where NoScript is persistently installed, NoScript should be able to persist the list to disk. Do you lose other data when you exit and restart Firefox?
I checked the profile and haven't lost anything. However I don't see NoScript mentioned there in the Privacy and Security section. It is listed as an addon and shows upp on the tool bar.
Yes, NoScript is an add-on. Add-ons can store data persistently from one session to the next. I'm puzzled why that isn't working. I wonder whether Tor browser has some special behavior that makes it different from regular Firefox.
I don't know either. I can check with my computer in town - this is a laptop I use at my summer cottage. The operating systems are identical but the TOR installation doesn't look the same even though both were installed from the Synaptics Packet Manager. The laptop has an icon on the desktop which has to be started via its OPEN command (starts a command file) while the PC in town can be started from the menu or the panel. The TOR browser on this laptop is version 8.5.3 (latest version) based on Firefox 60.7.0. I'll check the PC when I'm in town during next week.
