about 1 in 5 times when addressing an email using the "autofill" feature and inputting a known contact from my contact list, what is actually inserted on the address line is: "insert any name here" <nobody4e8d1b40d0eefb6@nowhere.invalid>. The name of the contact comes up correctly, but the email address is that odd @nowhere.invalid entry. I've searched the address book and these entries are in my address book for almost all of my entries, with near double entries. many instances it's the "invalid" entry that has the data for the contact and the "correct" entry only has an email. the "nobody" portion of the invalid entry always has a different number added to it. I am using Linux Mint 19.2, Thunderbird 60.8.0 64bit. Sometimes that email entry will go in fine. 2 days later, I'll create an email to the same person and the "invalid" entry is what pops up. Any Ideas?

I suggest you check the entry in your address book against the name shown in the email.

It is common for mailing list to use a generic email address. Like noone@mailinglistDomain.com but they use the sender name in the display part. Folks then add the name to the address book with the rubbish email; address and wonder why the entry does not work as expected.

Thanks Matt, but it's done it to about 50% of my address book entries. They have a normal entry and then the "nobody"/"invalid" entry. Sometimes all of the contact info is in the correct entry, sometimes in the "invalid" entry. I can send a screen shot.

Given auto fill reads the address books (All of them including collected) I suggest you look into correcting the information in the address books.
