I just bought a new mac. My old firefox always remembered my history, cookies and log-ins until I manually deleted them. Now, every day starts new, each time I shut my computer down – no history, no remembered log-ins, etc. Please help, Thank you.

It is possible that you run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Image) file.

Make sure you install Firefox properly.

Open the Firefox Disk Images file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Images, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.

You may also want to check whether you have multiple profile and use the Profile Manager to cleanup no longer used profiles.

You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Thank you FredMcD! I will try this tomorrow as it has been too long a day!!!! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. I am not used to my new mac as my old one of 10 years just died and thankfully I was able to purchase a new one at an Apple store before they all closed. I will get back to you on this tomorrow. Thank you again, you're the best! Sincerely, JJ
