I know people all over the world, and I like to MAIL - as in SNAIL mail, my Christmas greeting cards. I do it easily by exporting my Thunderbird address book - choosing the fields I want, and then exporting to CSV. I load them into Excel to edit out the addresses and fields I don't need, and deal with a few other details. I then import the result to Word and use the mailing label feature to print the individual addresses, all nicely formatted, onto sticky labels for the envelopes. But I can't seem to get to my mailing addresses any more. They are still there in the individual records, but not in the export. I follow all the instructions / ways I've used before / etc but though I can get the name, phone number and email address of my contacts, there are no more fields in the export file, and I cannot find a way to either: export all of the fields, or: choose the export fields before saving the CSV. HELP!

Exporting an address book to csv (or any other) format doesn't allow for choosing the fields. If you are able to do so, it isn't built into TB, but possibly with an add-on. Mail addresses, i.e. Home Address, Home City etc., are all displayed here when exporting to csv. If they don't appear after import to Word, the problem lies between Excel and Word. Try exporting an address book to csv from Tools/Export in Address Book, then open it in a text editor to confirm the mail address items.
