I am a new Firefox user. When I went to settings to clear cookies I saw another option named "Cached web contents" and it's size is shown 1GB (attached a screenshot). What is this? What will happen if I delete this data? I googled it but couldn't find any answer that could satisfy me :)

This is about data stored in the disk cache to make it available locally for quicker access without the need to reload this data from the server. If you clear the disk cache then Firefox will reload this data from the server. With a large disk cache reloading from the server can be faster and Firefox comes with a Race Cache With Network (RCWN) feature where loading from the server might be faster than loading from the cache.
