Currently installed 88.0.1 on Win7x64. Had to install Chrome because playing youtube playlists on Firefox became unbearable. On youtube.com and music.youtube.com many songs starts playing normally, then after few seconds, sometimes even over 10 seconds song restarts and start again. And this again is sometimes 3 times. It is not always the same songs. And it is not on every song on playlist. I would say it is random. Second problem is that after few songs has been played youtube choose next song and stops without any error. I need to push button play to continue. I tried to remove cookies, clean data and run in safe mode. Not sure when it started but i think at least 2 weeks has already passed. Don't observe this on Chrome so i will temporary switch to Chrome with youtube.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

How to ignore/disable userChrome.css without diagnostic mode?

If you have a userChrome.css in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder then you can simply rename this file.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Well i didn't find userChrome.css. I disabled all addons, disabled hardware acceleration and in the end i switched playing music playlists on Youtube to Chrome entirely. I am using 91.0.2 firefox so it is the most updated version. Firefox is no longer playing playlists properly. Songs restarts in the middle (without much reasons), after last song on playlist Youtube exits from playlists and starts to play "recommended (not mine) videos" whatever playlists settings are. I don't know how much there is Firefox fault, and how much it is Youtube. Maybe it is my old profile, maybe something other. What I know it worked in the past, now I wouldn't recommend Firefox for Youtube music.
