Hi, I have 2 devices on my FF account. A linux mint laptop and a handheld. On a 3rd device (2nd laptop), I just installed a Pop OS distro. When I attempt to sign in to FF on the Pop OS machine, it looks successful but then FF displays a message incorrect password. Below is the email for an old account. I have not used this email in a few years.

How can this be fixed?

Just to check, I did logoff and log back in on the linux mint laptop with no problems.

Thanks, Steve

Did you already had a Firefox profile on the device with the Pop OS distro?

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Thanks cor-el. With a fresh install of linux .. and FF, I didn't expect I'd have more than one profile. When I checked, thanks to your suggestion, there were 2 profiles. I switched to the other profile and tried to sign in. Got an invalid pass error.

So checked my linux mint machine. Couldn't login after logging out. (I'm using copy/paste from my pass db. It worked yesterday.) So I reset the pass and everything worked.

Thanks for you help! The profile got me started in the RIGHT direction but there was something going on w/ my pass also. steve
