Firefox bookmarking problem
When I go to bookmark a web site, as I start to type the bookmark folder name it vanishes.
I have to go into the bookmarks folder, find the no name folder and type in the new folder name.
As I start typing I have to enter the first letter twice as first strike does not work.
I have thousands of bookmarks which are set up in a Book, Chapter, Paragraph, Sentence format. So when a new folder goes missing it is easy to find the unnamed or a folder with no name. Thank you for the help.

It is now 4 days since I was told to try switching to Safe Mode which got rid of the problem. Since then I have bookmarked many pages and it has worked perfectly so far. Thank you Fred McD. I shall remember your advise and when Firefox start the problem again I will switch to Safe Mode and hopefully it will stop. I have had this problem for a long time about 15 months. Tried many firefox rebuilds, updates, but the problem has persisted even with a windows update from 10 to 11. I am very pleased that your simple fix has stopped it for now. I hope it has gone for good. Thank you.

Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks to a mobile device as that can be a cause for such an issue ?
Thanks. I have turned sync off and will let you know how it goes in a few days. Thanks You. Bonner Martin
Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
After stopping sync the problem was still there. After switching to safe mode the problem was not there, when I tried making a new folder. Switching back to normal mode again it worked perfectly. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts until it plays up again. I have had this problem for over one year. Will report in a few day thanks Bonner Martin

It's possible that Safe Mode removed a corrupted file.
