Dear Sir/Madam:

I am using Firefox Browser 102.15.1esr (64-bit) on a MacBook Pro Ventura 13.5.2.

I have been using the www.dictionary.com website for a long time, but recently when I attempt to go there, I keep getting the error message as follows:

Unexpected Application Error! FM.findLast is not a function

WM@https://www.dictionary.com/client.e12a2de6.js:36:305976 $o@https://www.dictionary.com/client.e12a2de6.js:1:26519 ka@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:864941 xu@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:921923 bc@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:910907 yc@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:910835 vc@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:910696 ic@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:907503 oc@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:906055 E@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:996565 P@https://www.dictionary.com/vendor.60d89d9a.js:1:997096

I tried clearing caches under Privacy & Security, but the problem persists.

(Meanwhile, I can visit www.dictionary.com on Safari and Google Chrome.)

Could you please let me know what is going on?

Thank you,

Roland

I tried the site recently in response to another question and had no issue. You could try deleting Cookies. If that doesn't work, try right-clicking the site in History then Forget about this site. Make sure you have a backup record of your user name and password before doing that because they will be forgotten also.

If none of those fixes the issue, try restarting in troubleshoot mode.

I just tried Firefox and had no issue? I get 404 error on some of those links. You might also want to contact their support page as well since this is coming from their page not Firefox.

Thank you for the reply! Since it works in Safari and Chrome, I suppose it is not the problem of the website itself.

Does it work better with 115.2.1esr or with the current release (117.0.1) ? You can find the full installer in all languages and all operating systems here:

Installing multiple versions on Mac OS X is basically dragging the Firefox application out of the DMG file to the desktop and rename the folder. You can drag the renamed Firefox application folder to the Applications folder like you would normally install Firefox. You can possibly eject the DMG file and and trash the installer.

Many thanks for these suggestions! Tried these, but the problem remains.

The site is incompatible with version 102, you will need to update to at least 115.2.1esr from here.

Specifically, the site requires the array method "findLast" which was implemented in version 104 (Bug 1775026).

The newer version has not yet been approved on my side, so I have to stay with the old version. Thank you all the same for the suggestion!
