I have 2 windows 10 computers both with Thunderbird. One computer never has trouble with getting emails. The other shows every day "Login to server mail.hoster905.com with username cnc@lcgnm.com failed" I have reset this one password at the server, entered the new password in Thunderbird and can the get mail. That day only. Next day same problem.

Looses them? or does not save them?

Passwords are stored in a session memory and written when Thunderbird exits. If you have an antivirus that is not excluded from scanning in your Thunderbird profile folder, it may well be preventing the change from actually being saved.
