Thunderbird 115 keeps re-subscribing to Gmail's "All Mail"
I need help debugging a problem with IMAP folder subscription.
One of my Gmail accounts on Thunderbird 115 keeps re-subscribing to "All Mail". This happens about every second day, and Thunderbird starts re-downloading all messages in the "All Mail" folder until I unsubscribe again.
My two other Gmail accounts for which I unsubscribed to "All Mail" do not have this problem.
I have unsubscribed from the "All Mail" IMAP folder several times (right-click on account > Subscribe ... > uncheck the "All Mail" folder > click OK). I have tried deleting OR not deleting the "All Mail.msf" file (while Thunderbird wasn't running, of course). I have tried refreshing the IMAP folder list (right-click on account > Subscribe ... > click Refresh). I compared the server settings of this account to settings of other accounts which don't automatically resubscribe, and found no difference. I cannot find why this account does this. Unfortunately, it's my most active account.
How can I find what causes this, and fix it?
Thanks,
- Martin

A possibility might be to go online at gmail.com and set the allmail folder to not be available via IMAP.
Hi David,
I thought of that, and I didn't want to do it just yet because it would remove the All Mail folder from my phone as well (although this could be a benefit as well).
Anyhow, just to verify, I just looked at the setting of the "faulty" account on gmail.com and noticed something very interesting: 1. Under "Forwarding and POP/IMAP", "Disable IMAP" is selected ("Enable IMAP" is selected in another account that is working well). 2. Under "Labels", there's no option to choose whether folders are available via IMAP. The option does appear on my other account that has IMAP enabled.
So, I'll enable IMAP on the Google side of my "faulty" account, and take it from there. I'm surprised Thunderbird and my iPhone have been able to link this account in IMAP mode if Gmail is set to Disable IMAP (and without so much as an error message).
Thanks,
- Martin
