I want to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox but I can't uninstall it. Nothing happens when I click remove in program access and defaults and the helper.exe file in the firefox uninstall dir doesn't do anything either.

"program access and defaults" is not the place to remove programs in Windows. You need to go to the control panel and click on Add and Remove programs. For instructions on how to uninstall Firefox, see Uninstall Firefox from your computer
