I have gone through the steps outline in the troubleshooting guide: Namely deleting all my history and other temporary data. I have also cleaned through my bookmarks, leaving only those that I want to appear. I still have one entry in my location bar. It does not have a star, and when I search through my history or bookmarks I cannot find it. Highlighting the item in the location bar and pressing delete, does not work either. Now I would like to continue using the autocomplete location bar, it seems like a great feature, but I do need this one entry gone.

You can delete places.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset the history. Firefox should restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder or you can restore the bookmarks from a backup that you make yourself before deleting places.sqlite.
