I know I was able to do this before. Under tools - options - applications - PDF files are listed to use Adobe reader but everytime I open a PDF it comes up using adobe in Firefox. I do not that. Want to be able to open the PDF right there.

Do you have Foxit Reader Plugin installed? You can check by: Tools / Options / Add-ons / Plug-ins

If you do, disable it and see what happens when you open a PDF file in Firefox.

My instruction should be:

Tools / Add-ons / Plug-in

and you should see Foxit Reader Plugin there. Click on the line and you'll see a "disable" option there.

Do you want the PDF files to open embedded in a Firefox tab with the Adobe Reader or in the external Adobe Reader ?
