recently installed a plugin, then uninstalled it (huff post).

consequently, the navigation tool bar has merged with the bookmarks toolbar - rendering any navigation impossible... it is all on one line --- causing the nav toolbar to be so far to the right, the tet box area is about 1/8 of an inch.

Where the bookmarks toolbar should be is now a blank area (below what used to be nav toolbar) make sense? happy to send screenshot.

I've reinstalled FF (3.6.11) using WinXP Pro

  • If, on Windows, in Firefox 3.6 the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down or press F10, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
  • Make sure that you have the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
  • If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
  • Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If you see the missing item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window onto one of the toolbars.
  • If, in "View > Toolbars > Customize", you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button
