I currently use a custom Google page for my home page. When I click the "Home" icon to return to Google, I get there without a problem. However, a blank ("untitled") tab opens up next to the tab for my home page.

This is not a life threatening issue, but it certainly is annoying. Any suggestions?

Check your homepage setting in Tools > Options > General. You probably have the "pipe" symbol - | - at the end of your Google homepage string. That symbol separates the URL's when you want to have multiple homepages.
