I lost my bookmarks and have tried several ways to restore but none work - I have a message in the error console that says 'database disk image is malformed'....help!

I have tried restoring; - from the restore list - from IE favourites - from an older copy of my bookmarks list which I had on a flash drive

Here are some of the error console messages:

Error: Async statement execution returned with '11', 'database disk image is malformed' Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsPlacesDBFlush.js Line: 312

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
