where is the gold padlock symbol so i know site is secure. if i don't see how to get i will remove 4 and go back to 3.6.16. i already loaded status-4 ever plug in and it also does not show padlock.

The padlock has been replaced by the site identity button which provides more information than the padlock, for details on using it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button
