Originally when I opened a new site with a password Firefox asked if I wanted to save the password and i replied "NO". Now, I changed my mind and I want to save that password, how do I add it to the password list manually?

You can't add it manually because Firefox links it to the site.

All you need to do though is to remove the site from the Exceptions menu. So click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Security and click the "Exceptions" button in the Passwords menu. Then remove the site.

Then go to that site and you'll get the option to save the password again and can confirm it.

I did not find that site in the "exceptions" and I don't get the option to "save the password"

Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
