downloads are deleted immediately after download. The download history is there in the download window but cannot be opened because the download is not there.

Any download handled by the downloader in firefox will result in it downloading ok, but it is immediately deleted by the downloader, I assume. I have tried everything to get a Realted AC97 driver dowloaded but have failed. I even downloaded it on a different computer using Internet Explorer and then emailed it to myself in yahoo mail. It arrived intact but when Yahoo downloaded it the Firefox downloader takes over and the same thin happens again. The source of the download doesn't have anything to do with the problem.

I haven't found a reason yet for this problem, but MS IE9 does the same thing - sort of. Except that IE sends a message after download that "the file contained a virus and was deleted." Very frustrating. Have done virus scan, malwarebytes scan, disabled antivirus and firewall - same result.

Solution: download and install Chrome (sorry Firefox, better figure this one out). Problem does not occur with Google Chrome.
