Hotmail has been having some hiccups lately. Try clicking the grey bar which has the word "Inbox" in it.

Also, click "Help" | "Check For Updates" and update Firefox to v3.6.19

Similarly, please visit the Plugins Check page and update where necessary. Out of date plugins expose your system to attack.
