Setting up new computer. I would like to build the system software before connecting to the internet, so I need to have whatever I'm installing already 'here'. I'm currently running FF 3.6.18 (WinXP) Home and will be running 5.x on the new system (Win7 Pro).

Is this possible?

Use another browser than Firefox like IE, Chrome, Safari or Opera. Now go to Mozilla Add-ons with any browser except Firefox and choose the extension you want. You will be given a download link. Click on the download link. You will receive a pop-up that you need Firefox. Click download anyway. You will get a .xpi file to download. Copy this .xpi file to where you want to.

Now open Firefox. Drag and drop the .xpi file from desktop or any folder to Mozilla Firefox. You can then install the extension.
