I am not sure of the solution for Mac users.

Not much you can do about the site choosing to specify Firefox 3.6 Presumably an example of an enterprise user wanting to stick with known and tested versions of browsers.

If you were a PC rather than a Mac user then as you will probably only use firefox 3.6 for that site maybe the easiest method is to download install and use the portable version, whilst keeping Firefox 6 for day to day use.

This is a relatively frequently asked question: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?os=1&fx=9&q=fafsa

You could also consider

  • provide feedback about the site not working, use your feedback menu
(Firefox Button -> Help -Provide Feedback)

That should help by highlighting the problem so that either

  • the site is more likely to change
  • or Mozilla, is more likely to continue support for Firefox 3.6

Obviously it will be a disaster if a financial site is left only allowing access by a version of Firefox that is unsupported for Security.

I am a PC user; as a Mac user I am not too sure what you can do, probably you will have to downgrade to firefox 3.6.2 see installing a previous version of firefox

If you have a mac you have Safari. In preferences enable the "develop" button. Then you will have a new choice of develop across the bar at the top. click "user agent" inside that option you can mimic any browser that the site you are using wants to see.
