Now there are just the 2 arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bars and there's no way to tell how long a page is going to be. The area of the scroll bar is all one color.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
