  1. 1) The problem is having to log-in 2 times because of a heightened security requirement. Alert message in red type reads: "Oops! You have been redirected based on your specific login credentials. Please re-enter your username and password"

I always get through to the web after doing this. Centurylink's tech resolved this problem by clearing old passwords w/ IE. Hardly use EI, FF is primary. I've tried to remedy this in FF, but nothing shows up. I don't store anything for security reasons.

  1. 2) FF always gives me this message in navigation bar at start up: "...prevented this page from automatically redirecting to..."

Please make it go away. Thanks.

Hey,

can you attach a screenshot of both messages? I got a feeling you were being hijacked somehow.

See:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
