How can I get Firefox to load pages that open in new tabs?

I've been having trouble getting content to load for pages/links that open from a site into a new tab. I've encountered this issue using the TurboTax.com, MT.gov, and Uheaa.org sites, and have been able to get the pages to load using Safari, so I feel it's a problem with my Firefox settings. I've tried entering in the site addresses in the Allow pop-ups option in Firefox preferences (even restarting FF and re-trying after), but the problem persists. Please advise.

Hi r3db3ard

see if this helps : go to Tools > Clear Recent History > in Time range to clear, select Everything > click Details and check both Cookies and Cache > Click on Clear Now. Exit Firefox and restart it.

thank you

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Neither suggestion works, any other ideas?

Are that normal links that specify a target window or are that JavaScript window.open() links?

Are you left-clicking the links?

Do you have any security software (firewall, anti-virus) running that might block such links?
