Recently I have received too many BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), checked the RAM memory and HDD for problems and no issues found, other hardware devices were also working properly without any issues, all drivers fully updated. The problem started on Saturday, 12th January 2013 whit one occurrence of BSOD, on Sunday it happened twice, on Monday another two times, and on Wednesday once again, up until Wednesday I refrained to watch videos and reduced the computer use to minimum, though the problem persisted. I realised that Firefox got itself updated to 18.0 on Friday, 11th January, therefore and as suggested by the Microsoft I proceeded with a System Restore to revert Firefox 18.0 update, since it has reverted to 17.0 the problem is no longer coming up and I am now using the computer as normal. Can any one clarify what happened? I still have the dump files logs, just in case you may need them.

firefox can't cause a Blue Screen, however it can trigger an underlying problem in your computer.

I have also run a full system scan to check for viruses and malware and nothing has been found apart from usual tracking cookies. All drivers are updated, including graphic drivers. The curious thing is that I reverted to version 17.0 and problem is no longer coming up, I assume there is some compatibility issues with 18.0 and applications like flash player, the problem happened mostly when I was on facebook or watching videos.

I had the exact same problem that started at the same time. I would be watching videos either stored on my computer or online while plugged in to my TV through the HDMI port. I did all sorts of checks on the computer, including for malware and RAM errors, and they all came back negative. At first I thought it was something wrong with HDMI. That was until I got the same BSOD last night on a different computer when I tried to hibernate, with the HDMI unplugged. The only program I had opened at the time was Firefox. Then this afternoon I get another BSOD, while watching streaming video on Safai and using Firefox to go through facebook. Not using Firefox again until this issue gets fixed.

You can check on the BSOD screen which file is causing the Windows crash.
You can also see this in the Windows event log.

Of course it is possible, in the case I don't use Firefox I have no problems with blue screens, using firefox it changes at once.

Firefox is what is called a UserSpace Application, it alone cannot cause a bluescreen. Bluescreens can only be caused by KernelSpace applications (like your Firewall). While these applications may have hooks into Firefox that are buggy, Firefox by itself can't cause a bluescreen.

Try looking into the error code that your bluescreen gives you.

When I have a blue screen while using a programm it is the programm that causes the problem.

And it is exactly this what happens while using Firefox.

Now I use Chrome instead and there are no problems.

Well that's incorrect, you can't assume that because you get a BSOD in one program that that program is causing the BSOD. Have you tried looking into what the exact error code is?

The problem had been solved as I said with the system restore and by reverting the Firefox update, since then I have been regularly updating Flashplayer and Firefox and no problem. Perhaps the Firefox update did not go well. I tried everything at the time, but no avail to solve the problem without reverting the update.
