Glarysoft.com has changed the tabs to include its search and other links for every new tab selected. I've removed their software, but it still persists.

All my new tabs that are selected from the tab bar now include a search window and other links from glary software. This first appeared after I downloaded and installed their free utilities package. It does not involve new tabs opened from a link. I've uninstalled the software including the unwanted toolbar and cleaned the registry but the issue still remains. How do I get rid of this?

Try to reset prefs on the about:config page that refer to Glarysoft.

  • Open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for glarysoft via the Search bar at the top of the about:config page.
  • Reset all Glarysoft related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

Use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values if there are still problems.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
