When some of my users go to a specific page their browser hangs, I go there I get the question "firefox prevented this page" etc. What is the setting?

The message I get is "firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". When some of my users go to the same page all their browser does is hang and eventually times out. I know the setting is in Tools, Options, Advances, General...

  • Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Why do some people get hung and others are able to go to the page? If it's not that setting then what else could it be? That's what I really need an answer for and that setting is the only one I see that could cause the problem.

That is hard to say. There may be multiple redirects in some cases, so they may have to click allow more than once or they may have extensions installed that cause problems or Firefox may have cached data from a previous visit.
