click on bookmark, new page opens in a frame on left side instead of switching to a new tab?

When I click on one of my saved bookmarks in my bookmarks toolbar, it will open the new "window" in a collapsible frame on the left side of my screen, leaving the page I was currently on open as the primary means of navigation rather than switching over.

Ex: I am currently on the mozilla support page, if I click on one of my bookmarks...let's say facebook, it will open facebook in a framed navigation pane (side bar) of sorts that can only expand about an inch and a half onto my screen, leaving the original page open. How can I get rid of the side bar?

hello meghanw, you can right-click bookmarks with that behaviour, go to properties and make sure that "open in sidebar" is not selected.

That worked for the most part! :) Thank you! For some reason though...when I received the notification in my email that my answer on this forum had been answered, I clicked on the link to "mark this issue as solved" and while my browser took me to this page...it also opened my homepage in the sidebar? After I had already told it not to open in the sidebar?
