SSL Exception not doing anything

So, I'm trying to access a site whose SSL certificate is invalid. First of all, I had to click myself through several support threads here to find out that I needed to change the value of browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert in about:config in order to even *get* the "I Understand the Risks" button (seriously, why on Earth would you do that? Have a little faith in your users, maybe? If they click that and screw up their system, it's their fault, not yours, you're not their net nanny.)

Anyway, so, now that I have that...I added the security exception, and nothing happens. Like, zilch. Before anyone asks, yes, I've cleared the cache and cookies and all that shebang, I'm also running the newest version of FF (23.0.1) – it's not working. I keep getting the stupid error page.

So, any way to access that site (or maybe to turn off the "untrusted SSL connection" page altogether? I don't handle any sensitive data online and have no stalkers to my knowledge, so I frankly couldn't care less whether or not *any* SSL certificate is valid, plus it'd still show up in the lack of the padlock icon)

On the error page, what is the technical description of the reason the certificate is invalid?
