Why can't I add a button to my Bookmarks toolbar?
I'm trying to add the Flipboard bookmarklet to my Bookmarks toolbar as per Flipboard's instructions (see: http://share.flipboard.com). My Bookmarks toolbar is visible but I can't get Firefox to let me drag and drop the bookmarklet onto the toolbar. I'm at a loss so any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Can you create a new bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar via the right-click context menu?
Are there any other bookmarks visible on the Bookmarks Toolbar?
Check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- Firefox menu button > Options > Toolbar Layout
- View > Toolbars > Customize
- if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
- if missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup
Thanks, that was somewhat helpful - it actually got the page where the bookmarklet lives to show up on the toolbar. Unfortunately, I still can't get the thing to work. I'm waiting for the Flipboard guys to get back to me with suggestions.
I appreciate the assist - it got at least half the problem solved.
The bookmarklet tries to open a pop-up window.
I get a pop-up that opens the login page.
It is possible that you run into this pop-up maximum (the default value is 20).
You can open the about:config page via the location bar
You can inspect and manage the permissions for all domains on the about:permissions page or for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:
- Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
- Click "More Information" to open "Page Info > Security"
- Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab
