Did you get it from a Mozilla site? If you got it from some other site than Mozilla, it may contain extra unwanted garbage. You can get the latest version here, with no extra baggage:

Uninstall the one you have now and remove its program directory before installing the new one. I would also scan for malware.

If these don't find it or can't clear it, post in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help:

hello Luckyg123, you might got tricked by a malicious website into downloading a fake update - a genuine firefox update will never contain those kind of nuisances you're describing! in addition updates are handled internally by firefox so if you are prompted to download and execute a .exe file to update firefox it will be fake (you can manually check for updates within firefox by going to firefox > help > about firefox).

please try these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there (sort the installed programs for their install date to see what got installed recently).
  3. finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
