google pops up though I pick Moz-chose Moz as default it changes back.

I'm still on X.P.--Mozilla tools come up o.k. but the searches are going through google. a google https appears in the search box. When I erase https the logo next to the search box a different symbol than google's appears but symbol with my cursor on it identifies itself as no ID for this symbol.

Bookmark and use this; Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
