Many emails from correspondents in my address books are treated as junk, and training the junk filter by marking messages as "Not junk" is not working for these.

Account settings > Junk settings 1) Checked "Enable adaptive junk email controls" 2) All accounts involved are checked as "Do not automatically mark ail as junk..." for all address books containing these senders.

Options > Junk > 3) checked "When I mark ... > Move them 4) Checked "Enable adaptive logging" 5)Reset Training Data. However, whitelisted senders still wind up automatically going to Junk. This includes messages I send with CC: to myself at sending address. Q: (I did not clear the log; must I lose all previous experience and start over?)

In the receiving Junk folder, I have repeatedly marked myself and several other frequent correspondents with (As Not Junk) to no avail. Q: In the junk folder, if messages are move there without the flame icon, must I click each one to add them to the "training list"? How are they treated of I don't?

Can you try Thunderbird in Safe Mode to see if this improves its behaviour?

I'm wondering if an add-on is interfering with the address book whitelisting function.
