Cannot send e-mail from Outlook alias

I need to send an e-mail from an Outlook alias. However, my only choice when I go to write the message is the main account. None of my 5 aliases are available for me to choose as my "from" address. At the moment, I need to log in to Outlook.com to send messages from aliases... Is there a way to fix this?

OK, so what is an "Outlook alias"?

If your aliases are separate and distinct accounts then you need to set each one up in Thunderbird.

If they somehow map onto a single "real" account then maybe you can set them up as Identities; look under your main account's Settings page for the Manage Identities button.

But Thunderbird can only, in this respect, know what you tell it. It can't magically infer the existence of these aliases.
