Firefox has crashed 17 times since September , it does this in the middle of browsing for no reason , it just closes with the "Firefox has crashed" box popping up , since October it seems to be crashing more frequently , it has already crashed 5 times this month , since we are only on the 6th day , this is getting old fast , its obvious the latest update did not fix the issue , if anything , it made it worse , i have changed nothing else on my PC , and have not added anything in months , so i am thinking its something within Firefox itself , i do not have Add-Ons , or anything , so its not that , i am about ready to change it from my "Default" browser , i am usually browsing forums when it does this (several different forums that i always frequent , as well as Craigslist , so i do not think its the site themselves causing this either) , and even though it opens back up after i click to restart Firefox in the crash box , its still annoying and especially since its done it pretty much every day this month so far , so its getting worse , this needs to be looked into , as i even went as far as to start using Internet Explorer to browse , so its getting serious .....

Here is the last crash report which happened just prior to posting this

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I updated the Graphics driver , it did not fix anything , it is still crashing almost daily , sometimes a few times in a day , no warning , it just closes and says Firefox has crashed ,and to click to restart Firefox , , anything else besides Graphics driver ?? , i do not have any Add-Ons , so i do not know what can be causing this , but the last update to Firefox , did nothing , if anything it made it crash more than it was crashing before the most recent version , but both versions still crash way too much , it has already crashed 2 times today and its just past noon

Any idea's ??

Anyone have any more idea's  ?? , the prior suggestion did not do anything to fix the issue , its still happening and its getting tiresome having to reload a page i was on because Firefox just randomly crashes , this needs to be resolved , its been going on for a long time and no one seems to be looking into whats causing it and how to fix it from doing this daily

I do not want a "Temporary Workaround" , i want a FIX

I understand that is has crashed over the last 4 months now. I also understand that updating the drivers, as well as disabling hardware acceleration have already been tried, but you are looking for a fix

I might suggest trying the beta version in the meantime, however in order to report the crash, filing a bug is the next actionable step.

What will be needed to file a bug:

  1. Crash reports from the last few days
  2. Accurate steps to reproduce, for example, what web page was open right before the crash
  3. The resources for Filing a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org are listed below:
