Cannot migrate default files successfully

Transferred all the files and folders in xxx.default to the default folder in the new computer. Verified the profile.ini file. Can see by the size of files in inbox for one email that they are there. Can see a file for an email that does not appear when I launch Thunderbird. Have about 1/3 of address book showing, but not all. On one email, shows 26 emails since 1/25 (computer purchased on 1/28 and Thunderbird installed on 2/4.) but not the 1000s before then. Was able to get all the messages in a gmail account.
