I have a class that I know is safe, but I cannot permanently turn off protection for it. I have to manually do it every time. How do I permanently turn it off?

What kind of protection are you talking about?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

It's just the part in the top left corner at the beginning of the URL bar. When I click it, it says "Disable Protection for Now" but I do not know how to permanently disable it.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is affected.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

I am unable to stream network TV shows (ABC.com, CBS.com, etc) using Firefox without allowing each session individually. Is there a way to allow whatever ad blocking is affecting viewing the site permanently by site in Firefox? IE 11 does not have this problem and I am having to use it more and more. I am NOT using a Private window in Firefox. I thought I had this problem solved earlier by uninstalling FF43 and reinstalling, but the problem has returned.

All the about replies are invalid in v49.0.1

There is no option to stop tracking prevention except on a session and per website basis. I don't want to have tracking prevention on as it stops videos and images appearing on many websites and ruins the browsing experience.

So how to disable tracking prevention globally and permanently please firefox?

brian99, sorry for the wait!

Type about:config in the url bar, press enter, click the "I'll accept the risk!" button, search for privacy.trackingprotection.enabled and set it to false. It should false by default. But in the future it looks like they might enable it by default.

The other way to disable it affects only private windows: Click Menu button > Options > Privacy - uncheck "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows". Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/P9m9oGh.png
