How can I change my password in Thunderbird?

I received an alert from IDShield that one of our email accounts may have been hacked. It was suggested that we change our password for this account. Why is it so difficult to figure out how to do that? We don't want any further trouble. Please help!

Maybe because email passwords are administered with your email provider and you seem to be trying to do it in Thunderbird.
