How can I change my POP3 & SMTP passwords?

I have been forced by Vodafone to move my demon mailbox to Office365, and passwords have changed. Thunderbird asked me for the new password for outgoing mail, but I can't send emails. The SMTP configuration just says "normal password", with no op[tion to change it.
