Messages in inbox wiped and/or deleted
I have used Thunderbird for a number of years because of its functionaility and reliability however in the last 6 months Thunderbird has repeatedly (5-10 times) lost inbox messages on more than one PC - many of the emails are business emails/receipts so the loss is a real issue. (I use POP servers)
The process normally is as follows: -
A read email in inbox will appear as a blank page. On leaving the email and checking others all opened emails will appear as blank page On changing folders and returning to the inbox most, if not all older emails have been erased. Resetting by deleting the *.msf files doesn't retreive the data.
On one occasion I have recovered some data from Inbox.Mozmsgs but on most occasions the data is lost. The first time it occurred I contacted support but the data was lost and there was no question of a likely fix.
My query is - Is this an issue that Mozilla is aware of and is it likely to be fixed

The issue is that the Inbox is the most used folder, with e-mails going into and out of it all the time. Thus it is the most vulnerable to getting corrupted, especially if there are a lot of e-mails in it.
Read and follow the advice in this article: Keep it working - Thunderbird
The main points of the article that apply here are: - Keep the Inbox relatively empty by moving e-mails to other folders. - Compact the folders for the account regularly.
If the Inbox does become corrupted, right-click it and choose "Properties". Click on the "Repair Folder".
Fang49, are you still seeing this issue?
