JavaScript is enabled by default in Firefox, but it could be disabled by a preference.

To check and make sure it is not:

  1. In Firefox, type about:config in the address bar, then press Enter.
  2. Click the button to accept the risk.
  3. Type javascript in the Search box.
  4. Make sure the javascript.enabled shows true and is not displayed in bold. When not, double-click anywhere in the line or use the context menu to toggle its value between true and false.

If JavaScript is or already was set to be enabled in Firefox, make sure no add-on or other software is causing JavaScript to get blocked. NoScript is a known example of an add-on that blocks JavaScript. In general, you should whitelist domains requiring JavaScript to work properly in these add-ons.

The quickest way of finding out if any add-on is responsible is to temporarily start Firefox in Safe Mode.
