I have my Firefox home page set to google. For some reason whenever I do a search in the google search engine, I am taken over to the yahoo search engine for the answer. Having the same problem with Bing as well. This is only a recent occurrence that has happened in the last three days.

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Yahoo “ Anything. Also look for SafeSearch or SearchAssist Incognito.

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Had the same problem on Firefox, when clicking on Goggle as my default search engine it would divert to yahoo.

SOLUTION: From an open web page on Firefox from the menu line click "tools" then click "add-ons" from the drop down menu then click "extensions". From the list look for an extension titled "FileConverter Addon". This is the culprit, DISABLE OR REMOVE IT and restart Firefox and you are good to go. This was frustrating until I found the answer and once I found it I removed it.
