Where are add-ons to clear URL field in Quantum?

more options

Prior to Quantum there were add-ons such a "Clear Fields" or "Xclear" that provided buttons to click to clear the URL field. I cannot find anything to do that now. Is there something about the new interface that is stopping people from providing this capability? Ideally, I want a button just left of the URL field that can clear the field so that I can paste my clipboard contents into the field. Thanks.

OS: Xubuntu 17.10 Firefox: 59.0.2

I don't think extensions can clear the address bar or search bar in Firefox 57+.

Is this different on Linux: on Windows, if I click once on the contents of the address bar, they are selected and anything I type or paste replaces it. That behavior seems to be governed by this preference:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste URLB and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true (or if your default is false, double-click to switch it to true)
