Opening a new tab via the 'scroll click' on the home button won't place the cursor automatically in the search field of the new tab

Every time I open a new tab by 'scroll-clicking' (or CTRL-click) on the home button it will open a new tab like it should. But with the Quantum roll-out I'm experiencing the problem that when the new tab opens up, my cursor isn't being placed anywhere. So I always have to click one more time in the search box to start typing.

I haven't configured a specific homepage, so it suggest the different websites and the highlights (standard configuration). When opening a new tab by the '+' symbol, the same tab opens but the cursor is placed in the address bar like it should.
