When you add a generic bookmark in V62 via the Bookmarks Menu, you get a pop-up with a giant thumbnail (hand nail? :-) of the page. I just want to add the bookmark, I don't want the prompt. How do you shut it off?

Hi,

Firefox 63 (which was released today!) includes a setting to disable this. Once you upgrade Firefox (it should happen automatically over the next day or two, or you can follow these instructions to update manually), you should see a "show editor when saving" option at the bottom of the popup. Once you uncheck that, you should no longer see the popup.

Hope that helps!

Note that this feature is controlled by this pref on the about:config page.

  • browser.bookmarks.editDialog.showForNewBookmarks

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
