Hi guys. Let's say you are moving to a new workstation. How do you transfer Multi-Account Containers between computers? Does it transfer with your Firefox Account Sync? Will it transfer all of the accounts or just your primary account?

Hi mwsasser

I believe it should just work through normal Firefox sync if you have "Add-ons" and "Logins" sync checked in:

about:preferences#sync

Cheers!

what i did is all of my container is save on pc1 i copy the folder for mozilla firefox installation folder

and second is i copied the %appdata% for mozilla firefox which is mozilla folder

i always bring my thumb drive with me

just transfer your mozilla %appdata% to another workstation > if there is already a mozilla folder in appdata just rename it and use your appdata

and open firefox.exe in thumbdrive :)

Unfortunately, Firefox Sync does not seem to do this automatically. However I do have a solution. The data you are looking to move is located in %AppData&/Profiles/*YourProfile*/browser-extension-data/@testpilot-containers/storage.js

So, on my macOS computer, that folder is /Users/jrkagan/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Profiles/%MyProfile%/browser-extension-data/@testpilot-containers/storage.js

You can copy that folder and move it between computers and it will copy your multi-account container information between those computers. Just make sure the Firefox app is not running when you make the change. So, quit Firefox completely, insert/overwrite the file, then start Firefox again. Bam -- your multi-account containers are now manually synchronized between computers!
