I have 2 machines that updated to Thunderbird version 68.2.0 Now the calendar does not work properly. I have tried a number of suggested remedies

The calendars I want to use are greyed out and cannot be selected.

There is an authentication problem with Google services that should be fixed in TB 68.2.1, the next release, but in the meantime try the workaround:
