Hi, I tried to backup my thunderbird app to an external hard drive, but after I did that and opened my thunderbird email app all of my emails were gone. It's as if I deleted everything and have to start over with Thunderbird all over, it's asking for me to set up emails. I haven't deleted anything but I want thunderbird back the way it was with all my emails before I did this.

I have a Mac Book Air, running OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.5

Exactly what I did: I clicked on copy thunderbird in the drop down. It made a copy and I saved it to my external hard drive. Then I went back to open Thunderbird, everything is gone.

Did I delete everything? Can I restore this?

Thank You!

What drop down? A drop down from within Thunderbird, or 3rdparty backup app or did you simply copy one of the Thunderbird folders? What exactly was copied and is now on the external drive? If you did 'copy' and not move files, TB should not be affected, but if you used Move - or drag and drop, then TB can't find the files where they used to be. Please show with screen shots if possible, what was placed on the external drive.
